Softening pool water is done by adding Magnesium Chloride.  This also reduces the build-up of Calcium on chlorinator plates. Pooled Energy often uses Magnesium Chloride as a minor additive to pool water but it depends on the pool.  Pooled Energy can manage the magnesium level in your pool to optimise your swimming experience.

Softening is not required in most Australian pools but you can do it if you like the feel of the water better.

You can also change to an all magnesium pool for its superior feel, or to a mineral pool with no change in equipment in most cases.  It is just a question of changing the salt type (at an additional charge).
