Superchlorination or “Chlorine Shock” treatment is widely used in the pool industry to get rid of irritating chloramines that accumulate in the water from the action of chlorine on human bodies, especially on sweat and urine. Chloramines may exacerbate asthma and allergy problems and cause strong chlorine odours.   In general, chloramines are not produced in Pooled Energy pools and you will not need superchlorination for this purpose

You are unlikely to require ‘superchlorination’ in a Pooled Energy pool other than after a “toilet accident” or a dead animal in the pool.  In that case, remove the problem and use your App which has a button for SUPERCHLORINATION.  This overrides limit controls and runs the pool at high chlorine levels for 24 hours.

Please check the Pool App to determine when it is safe to use the pool after superchlorination.  This may take more than one day, depending on the level of sunshine.
